Our founder, Mr. Sait Akgun, dedicated over 14 years to the Anti-Dumping Department at the Ministry of Economy (1991–2005), serving successively as a case handler, senior expert, and chief of section. During his tenure at the Ministry, he conducted numerous anti-dumping investigations, contributed to drafting Turkey’s 1995 Anti-Dumping legislation, and delivered various specialized seminars. He also frequently represented and led Turkish delegations at international meetings in Geneva. Additionally, Mr. Akgun served as the Commercial Counsellor at the Turkish Embassy in Buenos Aires from 2000 to 2003.

In 2005, he established Turkey’s first consulting firm specialized in trade defense instruments founded by a former anti dumping case handler. Mr. Akgun graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara in 1988, and later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Economics with a focus on International Trade from Michigan State University in 1996. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Our co-founder, Ms. Gulten Akgun, began her career at the Foreign Policy Institute of Hacettepe University in Ankara, serving as the editor of the Foreign Policy Quarterly from 1997 to 1998. Following this role, she transitioned to the private sector, managing the trade development department at ELKOM, an international trade company specializing in import and export operations.

In 2005, Ms. Akgun co-founded FTC, establishing Turkey’s first consulting firm specialized in trade defense instruments alongside former case handlers from the Turkish Anti-Dumping Authority. Her extensive professional background and track record are detailed under the "Industry Experience" section of our website. Ms. Akgun graduated from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1994. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

Mustafa Harman graduated from METU Industrial Engineering Dept. in 1987 and joined Aselsan in 1987, one of the largest defence industry companies of Turkey where he worked on the project for the design and installation of ERP systems. Then, he worked in various production and IT companies, where he leaded the teams for the integration, optimization, software design for ERP systems, etc. later on he specially concentrated on  methodologies for the cost accounting and calculation methods in different sectors. He is the counsel of FTC Legal Consultancy LLP on all ERP, costing  related matters. 

Erkan Buyuk serves as Counsel to the FTC in trade policy cases, specializing in commercial, trade, and corporate law. Upon graduating from law school, he practiced at Renda Law Offices for four years (2002–2006). In 2007, he established his own independent practice in Istanbul, where he has been operating ever since. Mr. Buyuk holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Law and is fluent in English.
